The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides…
- Samuel L. Jackson as Jules Winnfield, in “Pulp Fiction”.
Full Quote:
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

This quote was originally in the screenplay of From Dusk Till Dawn, and was supposed to be the prayer that the minister says while walking down the hallway with the shotgun cross, but QT cannibalized it for Pulp Fiction, thinking the Vampire movie was never going to be made.

It’a good quote, but it can never be a great quote . Why? I’ll let you answer the question. Recite the quote for me……….. ?? I can’t hear you! Maybe 1 person out of 100 who read this can tell me that quote. Half the quote? Two lines? Almost every great quote, with the exception of Hepburn’s quote from Golden Pond, and I have no idea how that ever made the top 100 quotes,is 1 line or less.Sometime only 1 2 or 3 words. “Rosebud.”" Plastics.”There are lot’s of great lines that don’t make the list. “YO Adrian!”" Somebody tell a joke.” “Fill your hand!”But they all hve one thing in common. Easy to remember. Short and sweet.Quick.People remember. It’s what makes a quote great.”Say good night Gracie.”…. “Good night Gracie.”
